The unfortunate thing is that the Party is still very powerful and rules harshly with those it disapproves of.

A paper-Panda, to be sure...

My fear is, with the coming turmoils in their financial realm, what will this entail to their inernals (i.e, the masses) dependant upon jobs, work, and their financial ability? Can the Central Committee and PRC keep them in check, or, will it volcano? No one knows for sure.

The next 10-18mths will be interesting, to say the least. With the current state of the Pacific Rim, Old Europe, and whatever is happening in Russia, it will be a rollercoaster ride no one will forget.

I hope sanity will rise to the top, but not holding my breath on it...
