NEW YORK Nov. 29, 2011–Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services today said it reviewed its ratings on 37 of the largest financial institutions in the world by applying its new ratings criteria for banks, which were published on Nov. 9, 2011. See the Ratings List for the ratings on these banks, their core and highly strategic subsidiaries, and other subsidiaries that we took rating actions on as a result of applying our new criteria to their parents. We will review all ratings that we placed on CreditWatch within 90 days. Ratings on CreditWatch are designated as Watch Neg or Watch Pos in the list below.

New York, November 29 (FinanceEnquiry.com) – Analyst Erik Oja of S&P Capital IQ upgrades the shares of US Bancorp (NYSE: USB) from BUY to STRONG BUY. The 12-month target price is set to $30.
Analyst Erik Oja, in a research note published yesterday mentions that US Bancorp is considered as one of the best run banks in the U.S., and the company is poised to grow net interest income in the current low interest rate environment. Analyst views the company has proportionally less legacy mortgage and foreclosure costs than larger US. banks. Analyst believes that US Bancorp will grow loans at a faster rate than its peers, and is well-protected from the direct impact of European financial crisis. The company is expected to raise its dividend once the stress test results are revealed next March, the analyst adds. The EPS estimate for 2012 is set to $2.84.
