He is one of the few or only one, to address this issue; as the rest of CONgress have their heads in the sand…
Paul is a political outsider, because on domestic issues he speaks the truth, whereas the others work as a team or reach across the aisle…
Perhaps, Sen McCain, should be required to go out on a date with Rep Barney Frank…
Hans, it feels like they’ve already gotten to 2nd base (at least).
I would prefer the aisles to be closed to handshaking. The less they can agree, the less they can get done. Let the “Grand Experiment” come to an end and options be put on the table.
I love Ron. I love the philosophy of free markets.
But this is the first time I found myself truly frustrated with his speaking. He’s always been a bit spotty on staying on message but this was terrible. The free market could truly benefit from someone like him being a grand orator. In the end you need to sell your message to make positive change and if he was selling for me I would bludgeon him with WTF? Stop as I would say “running over question marks.” When you ask a question without pause – “what about competeing currencies” and you then move on without requiring an answer it comes off at best as rhetorical but more likely insincere since you didn’t require a response to validate the question. Make powerful statements summarized by a final question versus bumbling questions ended by a thank you.
He’s our lone political dog in this fight but the next one needs a bit of coaching on effective message delivery to make more headway. That is where the next gen should be seeking talent- Obama delivery but Paul message and we would be far more competitive in every race. IMO
I agree, he speaks like Ron Paul, not a great orator. One reason why he didn’t leave with a big question is that Bernanke never answers him seriously. His responses are just rhetorical quips. It’s more of a problem with the Fed not taking this committee seriously.
Paul’s been saying the same thing for 30 years. That’s the problem with consistency, it’s hard to deliver it more eloquently than you already have a gazillion times.
These sessions are more for Congress to beat up on whomever they are interrogating. Nothing serious ever comes out of these. They just create a film clip and post it up on their web sites to show their constituents how tough and smart they think they are. Ron is no exception. And as Matt H points out, Ben never really answers questions anyway.
I agree with the latter half, Mr Harding…
Oh, lets not forget, that Bank Bernank is a university professor and if his positions were tight and strong, he could have reflected any and all questions given him…
Yet, he choose to remain silent! That to me is an indictment and less of course, they have created the perfect institution…
The plague upon America does not come from the White House, but from the chambers of CONgress…
There will be no change, unless there is change in CONgress..
BTW, did anyone hear, Paul stating we have a massive debt crisis?
Agree wholeheartedly.
The handshaking is used to move money around, but on this issue you are correct, Matt…
I strongly favor moving back to a gold standard, although this would not necessarily solve all problems…
The only value that the Central Bank may have, is providing adequate money flow…
They could get out of the interest bearing game as well, since we have a vibration bond market…
The reason why most pols do not care about the Federal Reserve, is that it will not get them re-elected or un-elected…
What I admire about Paul and a few others, is that they are concerned about issues from a moral or ethical point of view, rather than will this keep “me” in power…
Hear is a House bill which all but three Representatives voted for…For all others, I say, SHAME ON YOU…(sorry to go off topic)
